Human Resources made by Schenker - worldwide

It is our foremost objective to recruit the best employees, to provide them with first class qualifications and to retain them.

Our HR work needs to be understood as an important tool for maintaining and growing our position as one of the leading integrated logistics service providers. Find out here how we achieve this on an international level.

Our decentralized corporate structure and high level of diversity and internationalism define the basic framework for our HR work. 55,000 employees are spread about 1,500 offices around the world. The company has been shaped by more than 135 years of cooperation within our network while our HR activities are continuing to be influenced by a wide variety of languages, cultures and local jurisdictions. It goes without saying that English is used routinely by our employees as an important means of communication.

In spite of our decentralized structure, Schenker has a strong corporate culture. It is reflected in the way we deal with each other, the way we achieve our goals together and the way in which we do business.

Schenker's corporate culture is also evident in our 'Visions, Values & Guidelines' and in our 'Human Resources Strategy', a jointly defined strategy which makes our regions and national subsidiaries responsible for their own actions, subject to local circumstances. Responsibility for the local implementation of our common HR strategy lies with the HR departments of national subsidiaries. Where necessary, the national subsidiaries are supported by their respective regional head office or Schenker's Head Office in Essen, Germany.
